MAD offers list of heritage sites to MDDA for conservation under new Smart City proposal
Doon based student activist group, Making a Difference by Being the Difference (MAD) gave a list of 52 heritage sites to MDDA for conservation under the new smart city proposal. MAD had undertaken this responsibility at a meeting convened by MDDA VC Meenakshi Sunderram at the MDDA Conference Hall on Tuesday.
The list provided features several schools and institutions, apart from Guru Ram Rai Darbaar, Clock Tower, Astley Hall, Gandhi Park among others.
“We have provided these places to the MDDA in a bid to ensure that this smart city proposal deals with protecting and projecting Dehradun’s core identity rather than just mindlessly concretizing it” remarked MAD’s Founding President Abhijay Negi.
In the preparation of the list, MAD had consulted several hundred of its members as also domain experts, like Mr. Lokesh Ohri, who is the Convener of INTACH’s Dehradun chapter.
