SRINAGAR POLICE SEIZES EXPLOSIVES, DETONATORS IN PAURI DISTRICT

Explosives, detonators and a safety fuse was found by the Srinagar police in Pauri district in a vehicle on Wednesday.  Presently, the case is stated to be that of a commercial user and no connection to any terror activity has been ascertained yet. According to official sources, the police was conducting a vehicle checking drive when a four wheeler with license plate number HR-38S 6671 was halted and checked near the Pauri Chungi check post.

According to  the police , the vehicle was being driven by Pradeep Kumar, from Uffalta village. The police found 125 kilogrammes of explosive material in the vehicle along with 300 detonators and 7.3 metres of safety fuse- all being transported without the legal documents from Srinagar to Tharali  in Chamoli district. The explosive materials are reported to belong to an infrastructure sector company. The explosive were being taken from Srinagar to Tharali in violation of Union Government norms.The Srinagar police has registered a case under section 286 of the Indian Penal Code and under section 9(B) 9(C) of Explosive Substances Act 1908 against the driver of the vehicle and management of company
