DEHRADUN: With polling in Uttarakhand scheduled on February 15, the Election Commission is giving final shape to its preparations. On Monday, a total of 2,477 poll parties were rushed to their respective polling stations. On Sunday, 38 poll parties had left for their polling stations, whereas the remaining 8,339 would leave on February 14.A total of 10, 854 control units and 11,240 ballot units of the Electronic Voting Machines have been kept prepared.
Whereas, 4,106 control units and 4,253 ballot units have been kept in reserve. For the first time Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines are being used in three assembly constituencies of Dharampur (Dehradun), Rudrapur (Udham Singh Nagar) and BHEL Ranipur (Haridwar).A total of 558 VVPAT machines are being used for polling and 274 have been kept in reserve. Keeping in mind the security aspects, a total of 1,283 centres have been included under the list of vulnerable stations and 1,564 in the critical list.
