The portals of Yamunotri temple will open on April 28

District magistrate Uttarkashi, Ashish Shrivastava told, “The portals of Yamunotri temple will open on Akshay Tritya on April 28 at 12:15 pm. This year, we are expecting more tourists than the two lakh who visited us last year. Badkot-Damta-Yamunotri highway will be improved so that pilgrims face no problem in their commute,” said Shrivastava.

Last year, some pilgrims had suffered a heart attack on Yamunotri route and died.

For convenience of the pilgrims, the administration has started a prepaid pony service at Jankichatti counter. Shrivastava also said that health check up for pilgrims over 50 years of age has been made mandatory.
