Two engineering students, a boy and a girl were stripped and brutally murdered in Lonavla near Pune on Sunday.
The police believe that the incident took place probably between 7.30pm on Sunday and 2pm on Monday. The bodies of the students were found in the forested area near Tiger Point on Monday afternoon.
The boy was a final-year mechanical engineering student, who lived in Bhangarwadi near Lonavla whereas the girl was a final-year computer engineering student living in the college hostel in Lonavla.
They also said that the girl’s hands had been tied behind her back and a cloth had been stuffed into her mouth.They were residents of Rahuri in Ahmednagar and Otur in Junnar, respectively.
College officials said the woman had already secured a job and was planning to take it up after completing her course.
The girl had reportedly told others at her hostel that she was going out with a friend and would return home late.
The victims were identified by their driving licence an Aadhaar card found at the spot. Police have also recovered the boy’s red motorcycle near the crime scene.
