
A six-year-old girl was mauled to death by a leopard in a village. The villagers are panic-stricken while the forest department has installed a cage to trap the leopard.
According to sources, Renu kumari, daughter of Dharm Singh Baghiyal of Jakhani Dhar village in Tehri had gone to purchase some household items from a shop in the village. When she returned home, the leopard who was sitting in hiding pounced on her and dragged her 500 feet away.
The family members and neighbors who heard girl’s screams came to her rescue but she could not be saved. The villagers are fear-stricken and angry too that despite informing the forest officials about the leopard presence around their village several times, they did nothing. Divisional forest official, KoKo rose has got a cage installed to trap the leopard.
