20 high-yielding varieties of plant species developed by three forest institutes

The Environment Ministry has on Monday given its approval for the release of 20 high-yielding varieties of plant species developed by three forest research institutes. Forest Research Institute (FRI) in Dehradun, Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding (IFGTB) in Coimbatore and Tropical Forest Research Institute(TFRI) in Jabalpur are the three institutes responsible for development of these varieties. These 3 institutes are under Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education. The Variety Releasing Committee of ICFRE has granted approval for the release of these varieties of plant species.
