
In view of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit of Uttarakhand to attend a programme at Indian Military Academy (IMA) on January 21, state additional director general of police (law and order) Ram Singh Meena held a meeting with the police officers on Tuesday and gave them necessary instructions to strengthen the security. Among those present at the meeting were Garhwal Range DIG Pushpak Jyoti and SSP Sweety Aggarwal. Meena stressed on deploying additional forces around IMA premises to make security fool-proof.
It should be mentioned here that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval are scheduled to take part in the Commander’s Conference at IMA on January 21. Apart from them, three service chiefs and corps commanders of the Indian Army are scheduled to attend the high-profile congregation.
Later, SSP Aggarwal arrived at IMA to inspect the premises from the security point of view along with the senior IMA officers. She directed local police station officers to deploy additional forces around IMA premises and conduct vehicle checking and verification drives in the area.
It is learnt that the intelligence staff has been put on alert and directed to be vigilant in their assigned areas.
