
Uttarakhand chief secretary S Ramaswamy met senior administrative and police officers in Dehradun on Wednesday ahead of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed campaign tour covering four places across the poll-bound state- Haridwar, Rudrapur, Srinagar and Pithoragarh- for three days starting from February 10. The CS discussed aspects related to ensuring fool-proof security for the VVIP visit.
Earlier, the CS interacted with DMs of Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Pauri and Pithoragarh through video conferencing and reviewed preparedness related to the PM’s upcoming visit. Aside from the administrative and police officers being deployed at the helipad, all arrangements are being made for ensuring security at the places he would cover. Intelligence staffers have also been deployed in adequate number.
Others present at the meeting were additional chief secretary Om Prakash, DGP MA Ganapathy, principal secretary home Umakant Panwar, Garhwal commissioner Vinod Sharma, PWD secretary DS Gabarwal, secretary protocol Shailesh Bagauli, ADGP (law and order) Ram Singh Meena and IG (intelligence) AP Anshuman.
